Driving

Emduo E 30mg/150mg/600mg Kit may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

Kidney

Emduo E 30mg/150mg/600mg Kit is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Emduo E 30mg/150mg/600mg Kit may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

Emduo E 30mg/150mg/600mg Kit is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. How Emduo E 30mg/150mg/600mg Kit works
Stavudine prevents the multiplication of HIV virus in human cells. Thus stops the HIV virus from producing new viruses.

Common Fatigue, Headache, Nausea, Dizziness.

Expert advice for Stavudine

Take stavudine at least one hour before food.
Do not drive or operate heavy machinery while taking this drug as it may cause dizziness.
Tell your doctor before taking the stavudine if you have liver or kidney disease, peripheral neuropathy (numbness, tingling and pain in the limbs) or pancreatitis (inflammation of pancreas) or if you are lactose-intolerant.
Inform your doctor before taking stavudine if you are taking other medications like zidovudine, didanosine, doxorubicin, hydroxyurea, or ribavirin.
Seek immediate medical attention if you notice problems with pancreas or liver function or suffer from symptoms of lactic acidosis (you can have nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, rapid and/or deep breathing, neurological symptoms).
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking stavudine as it may worsen the side effects.
Take necessary precautions while using stavudine to prevent the spread of HIV to others.
Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Consult your doctor if you have diabetes and are using insulin.
Patients receiving this therapy are always at a risk for infections and hence should report any such cases to the doctor.
Consult your doctor if you take any prescription medication; Inform your doctor if you take other medicine for treatment of HIV or hepatitis B infection, hairy cell leukemia [a type of blood cancer], or antibiotics for infection.
Lamivudine may rarely cause a serious side effect like lactic acidosis with symptoms such as pain or weakness of muscle, numbness or feeling cold in arms or legs, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, lack of breath, aberrant heart rate, dizziness, weak or tired feeling; hence, inform the doctor immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.
It is possible to pass on HIV when on this medication and hence it is important to take necessary precautions to prevent HIV from spreading.
Inform you doctor if you notice signs of change in the distribution of fat (lipodystrophy), erosion of bones (osteronecrosis), or inflammation of pancreas (pancreatitis).
If you are on therapy it is important to use effective non hormonal method of contraception or condom so that a pregnancy can be avoided.
Use with caution in pediatric patients with a history of pancreatitis or other significant risk factors for pancreatitis.

Inform your doctor if you have a history of mental illness or convulsions (fits or seizures).
Ensure that efavirenz is always taken in combination with other anti-HIV medicines and never alone.
Seek immediate medical attention if you develop signs of dizziness, difficulty sleeping, drowsiness, difficulty concentrating or abnormal dreaming or any signs of skin rash or inflammation or infection.
Take the required precautions to prevent transmission as efavirenz does not prevent the spread of HIV virus to others through blood or sexual contact.
